A very special ceremony was held here on October 16th to honour our very own Les Patterson at the presentation of his recently awarded British Empire Medal! His Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Northamptonshire, James Saunders Watson, very kindly agreed to hold this significant ceremony at 78 Derngate which meant a huge amount to Les and the whole team!  Three other BEM Awardees; Henny Cameron (herself an erstwhile Northampton High School pupil) and Junior Anderson were also presented with their medals, together with an Honorary MBE which was awarded to local food bank founder, Teresa McCarthy-Dixon.  The Lord Lieutenant gave a rousing introduction to the event and was full of praise for all the work that has been done across all three buildings over the years and it seemed entirely fitting that the presentation could be done on Les’s home turf, as it were!

It was fabulous to be able to host all the awardees here in our wonderful mezzanine area and Lorraine catered for everyone afterwards with a magnificent spread in the Barwell Room!
