Do I have to take a tour?
No, it's not compulsory! If you prefer to self-guide and go at your own pace then you will find some explanatory materials in each room of the Mackintosh House to inform your visit. You can also purchase our excellent souvenir guide book for a more detailed and scholarly level of information. Self-guiding visitors are not limited as to entry time but to avoid busy periods may wish to call ahead and check anticipated visitor numbers around their proposed arrival time; this can help avoid delays when large tour parties are visiting the house.

The adjoining museum display inside number 80 Derngate further explains the wider story of 78 Derngate for both touring and self-guiding visitors.
