Friends of 78

friendsThe Friends of 78 Derngate support and promote the activities of the 78 Derngate Trust in the restoration and conservation of the W.J. Bassett-Lowke house as re-modelled by Charles Rennie Mackintosh. It is our aim to do this by the following means:

  • To raise money to support the Trust's activities
  • To raise public awareness of and support for these activities
  • To engage in research into subjects connected with the properties held by the 78 Derngate Trust

The Friends organise a series of lectures, town walks, visits to other properties and residential weekends with an architectural theme. If you are interested in joining the Friends of 78 Derngate or wish to renew a current membership please call or email: info@78derngate.org.uk/01604 603 407.

Friends gain free entry to 78 Derngate on production of a valid membership card and can obtain 10% off purchases from the 78 Derngate gift and craft shop and the CRM Society shop at Queen's Cross Church in Glasgow.

The Friends of 78 Derngate produce a regular newsletter.

You can Help 78 Derngate if you have any photographs, memorabilia, documents or information related to W.J. Bassett-Lowke or Charles Rennie Mackintosh, we would be pleased to hear from you.

Mackintosh: The London Years

 

It is a time in Mackintosh's life often regarded as one of decline. But his work in the capital which began in 1915 has now been commemorated there.
