Sunday September 16th, 2012.
BooQfest 2012 was Northampton's first Gay & Lesbian Literary Festival.
The Festival celebrated gay and lesbian authors (local and national) and their writing. This year's booQfest was also reaching out to a wider audience so that other local writers could use it as a platform to publicise their work even if they did not directly identify with the LGBT community. For a whole weekend, The Royal and Derngate Theatre, Northampton Library, Abington Park and 78 Derngate hosted events.
Events at 78 Derngate:
Sunday September 16th, 12.00.
What happened to horror? Author, book reviewer, creative writing tutor and member of the Society of Authors, Steve Emmett, delved deep inside the hallowed halls of horror. After a reading from his latest book - the excellent 'Diavolino' - participants learned more about this author and found out what a nice guy like him was doing with a book like this.
Sunday, September 16th, 14.00.
Crime writer (and author of 'Write On! - The Writer's Help Book') Adrian Magson came to town to talk about his latest novels in the Harry Tate and Lucas Rocco series, respectively 'Retribution' (hot off the press!) and 'Death on the Pont Noir'.
